Despite horrendous weather conditions in April 2006 four energetic lads (David George, Bruce Robertson, Richard Turland and Dave Cabrelli) cycled nearly 300 miles from Newcastle in the north of England to Dundee in Scotland and managed to raise nearly ₤1,000 for ACT.
The trip took 5 days and according to Bruce their speed ranged from 3 to 30 miles per hour.

Bruce confessed to being at the back most of the time and his super fit brother- in law David George was in the lead. Thanks to him they didn't get lost and he had all the necessary gear for cycle repairs. Five punctures and one broken chain later they finally reached their destination exhausted but in good spirits.
Despite a few hairy near misses on busy roads during the day they managed to have a few good laughs in various watering holes at night.
Bruce also appreciated the welcome breaks at the many traditional 'tearooms' en route. They were battling against head winds most of the way and felt as though they were going backwards at times.
